A platinum ring featuring an Asscher-cut, 21.37-carat diamond will lead Doyle’s upcoming Important Jewelry auction with a high estimate of over half a million dollars.
The ring, with its H-color, VS2-clarity center stone between two baguette diamonds, has an estimated price range of $350,000 to $550,000, Doyle said last week.
It is one of three platinum diamond rings among the top lots at the sale, which will take place on October 30. The second ring sports an emerald step-cut, 9.83-carat center stone and carries an estimate of $125,000 to $175,000, while the third features an emerald-cut, 5.13-carat diamond and an expected price tag of $80,000 to $120,000.
The auction will also showcase three gold, diamond, and ruby pendant clip-brooches by René Boivin that once belonged to New York socialite Babe Paley. These pieces, which come with two suede straps that can turn the brooches into necklaces, are set to fetch between $120,000 and $180,000.
Additionally, the sale will feature an array of jewels from renowned houses such as Bulgari, Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels, ranging from antique through modern pieces.
Prior to the auction, the lots will be on display at Doyle’s regional locations across the US, including Boston, Beverly Hills, and Palm Beach, Florida, culminating in a New York showcase that will run from October 26 to 28.
